Welcome to the Fuel4Life Nutrition Blog!
So excited you found me! 🙆
My name is Susanna, I am a first time mum, Dietitian and a runner 🏃
This Blog is a platform to inspire people to eat MORE wholefoods, MORE vegetables and fibre, eat more MINDFULLY and find a balance without the GUILT.
Food doesn't have to be an "ALL or NOTHING" approach and 'quitting' food groups or single nutrients. Foods doesn't have to be "GOOD or BAD". I believe you can be friends with food and ENJOY it - without 'stressing about' if it was "clean" or "Paleo enough". I believe there is room for 'ALL FOODS' 🙆.
I am "just a regular mum" (no superpowers here) and although I am a qualified Dietitian, I too struggle at times to eat healthy and always cook from scratch. I also have days where both my eating and exercise has literally gone out the window! I am here to show you that it is okay and that the we all are DOING OUR BEST - nobody is perfect. There will be packaged foods from time to time, there will also be a treats. My AIM is to show you how you can find the BEST and healthiest in each situation, but also how to 'lose the guilt' about FOOD.
I love food, running and COFFEE ☕
I am a University qualified Dietitian and Sports Dietitian. I come from a fitness background with a Bachelor degree in Exercise Science and I have also completed cert III and IV in Fitness to become a Personal Training. I grew up in Sweden and moved to the Gold Coast, Australia in 2003 and that is where home is together with my husband and our daughter 💕
I live by the rule of "everything in moderation" (including moderation!) and believe that you can be healthy eating REAL FOODS; mostly wholefoods, but that there is room for ALL foods 💪 So yes - that includes chocolate and ALL food groups.
(I may - or may not, eat chocolate every day 🙊).
Of course, you still need to listen to your body --> That is why 'One size does NOT fit all' and the Internet can be a very confusing place!
This Blog also exsists as an inspiration for NEW MUMS and parents who stress about 'Being Healthy' - showing you all that your world will NOT crumble because you ate a few TIMTAMS or used a canned tomato sauce for dinner. It is called BALANCE and being HUMAN and I believe the "ALL or NOTHING approach" can cause a lot of unnessesary stress. The KEY to become HEALTY is to find what works for you and your family and YOUR special life circumstances. Paleo may NOT be "your way" - and that is okay. I am putting back some perspective into 'healthy lifestyle' - and aiming to give you some inspiration along the way! 🙆
EFFORT IS A CHOICE. We can inspire each other ✌
Since becoming a mum in June 2014 I have noticed motherhood comes with all sorts of challenges. Now, all of the sudden you have an offspring to try and nurture and keep alive (apart from yourself and potential partner and/or pet! 😱).
Everyday is a chance for you to be a positive rolemodel for your kids including healthy eating, being 'body positive' and have a healthy food relationship, as I believe all these things are build from a very early age 💪. Monkey see monkey do 🙉. My goal is to give you some of those 'powers' too!
I enjoy documenting our perfectly IMPERFECT family life of being a stay at home mum & wife, balancing an active lifestyle, training for marathons, as well as being a self proclaimed gourmet Goddess in the kitchen (read: I cannot cook rice without burning it), with A LOT of humour. 😂
I want to make Healthy Eating FUN!
I LOVE cooking up a storm and develop new recipes that are affordable, HEALTHY, simple and tasty - suitable for the whole family 🍍I use the tags: #mumfuel #toddlerfuel on Instagram to spread the love 💕
I don't guarantee my cooking always turns out the way it should.... I am NOT A CHEF (although my dad is, he didn't pass on that gene😉😂). I am just a regular mum, trying my best! However, all my meals are always served with a side of humour 😉🍝
Enjoy! 😘
